How to Get a Good Night's Sleep
and wake feeling refreshed every day
Memory foam is a product derived from research at NASA where they sought the
best materials for space travel where exit and entry speeds can cause crushing
gravity effects without proper cushioning for the body. Memory foam is a
material that cradles, caresses and conforms to your individual body; it is
heat activated so just by lying down on a Memory foam surface it will slowly
change its surface to fit your body. When you get up again the impression does
not stay in the surface or you would need to stay in the same position always.
It conforms to your every move so that it offers complete and comfortable
support evenly for you, no matter what position you prefer for sleeping.
Memory foam pillows and mattress pads are naturally hypoallergenic and
eliminate allergies caused by fungus, mold and mildew. These products are
suitable for adults and children and most everyone benefits overall with a
better night's sleep. Proper back support during sleep helps keep your spine
aligned so you wake refreshed and ready to have a wonderful day.
What is Back Pain? What can be done?
Acute or short-term low back pain generally lasts from a few days to a few
weeks. Most acute back pain is the result of trauma to the lower back or a
disorder such as arthritis. Pain from trauma may be caused by a sports injury,
work around the house or in the garden, or a sudden jolt such as a car accident
or other stress on spinal bones and tissues. Symptoms may range from muscle
ache to shooting or stabbing pain, limited flexibility and range of motion, or
an inability to stand straight. Chronic back pain is pain that persists for
more than 3 months. It is often progressive and the cause can be difficult to
determine. If you are suffering from chronic back pain there are a number of
things you can do:
See your doctor and follow the recommendations of their diagnosis.
Over the counter medications may help when the cause cannot be determined, but
they should not be used if you are taking prescription medications as part of
your doctor's therapy.
Some people benefit from therapeutic massage, hot or cold compress treatments
along with mild exercise to help retain mobility.
Avoid additional strains and stressful positions that can aggravate your
condition.
While you shouldn't stay constantly in bed if you are capable of movement,
additional bed rest is indicated if your back pain is sudden or acute.
To maintain a healthy back it is important that your mattress gives adequate
support where it is needed, without being overly hard which can cause
circulation problems at pressure points.
As we age, we still need the support of a good firm mattress, but a mattress
that is too hard can lead to an uncomfortable night's sleep as we turn and move
trying to avoid the constant pressure at one point or another. Probably the
best surface for a good night sleep is a layer of memory foam over a firm
mattress. The mattress gives overall support and the memory foam layer makes
that firm support tolerable to our bodies.
